This is Samson checking in for Straight from the Rescues’ Mouths.
I first want to give you an update on Francesca. She has only been at Illinois Horse Rescue of Will County for a month, but she is putting the weight on nicely! She LOVES to eat and it’s her favorite time of day! I hear that she needs around 250 more pounds to be at a healthy weight. Her feet are still sore, but she loves spending time outside with soft ride boots on. I have even seen her trot a few steps the other day! She (like me and most of my friends at IHRWC) loves her time spent at IHRWC’s Salon and we all try to get a daily appointment.
I want to introduce you to sweet Sapphire. She was just dumped in a farmer’s cow pasture. My home (IHRWC) went and rescued her in a thunderstorm on August 11th! She had 3 open wounds on her legs that were very alarming and about 150 pounds underweight. The vet showed up 2 hours later. The back left leg has horrible proud flesh that was just left untreated. The other 2 legs had one summer sore with proud flesh each. The vet cleaned her wounds and she wants us to keep rewrapping her every day for 2 – 3 months.
These 2 girls really need your financial support toward the cost of the daily medical supplies, hay, grain, supplements, and vet cost. I know Sapphire and Francesca (along with all of us who call IHRWC home) would appreciate anything you could willingly give because every dollar adds up!
Thank you for your help and check back next month to see what’s new with Straight from the Rescues’ Mouths.
