Happy and Sad Goodbye

Hee-haw! Samson here, kicking off another edition of 'Straight from the Rescues’ Mouths!' Fall has arrived, and let me tell ya, it's my absolute favorite! The leaves are changing, the air's getting cooler, and there’s pumpkin everything. Seriously, what's not to love? I’d order a pumpkin latte if I could figure out the whole 'opposable thumbs' thing.

Tractor fixing water problem.

But with all this fall fun, there's also a big ol' to-do list to tackle before that chilly winter sneaks up on us. Top of the list was our water situation. Our hydrants were leaking, and we had not one, not two, but three plumbers come by just to ghost us! We were sweating—figuratively, of course—wondering how on earth we were gonna fix it before everything froze solid. But then, like a knight in shining overalls, a volunteer showed up and got the job done! Water problem: solved! High-five, or should I say, high-hoof!

Agatha and Cordelia

Now, for some fantastic news! My buddies Agatha and Cordelia just trotted off to their forever home! They were just relinquished this month with 2 other friends and already found their forever home! They’ve got a beautiful pasture all to themselves, and I’m so happy for them. But hey, there are still plenty of my pals looking for their happily-ever-afters, so spread the word!

And now, for the part that's got me feeling all the feels… We had to say goodbye to our sassy barn cat, Pauly. He was a feisty little boy who always kept us on our hooves, and even though he never let us pet him, we knew he loved us in his own 'look but don’t touch' kind of way. Pauly, you’ll always have a special spot in our hearts. We’ll miss ya, friend.

Alright, I’m off to munch on some pumpkin treats! Be sure to check back next month for more donkey shenanigans. And hey, if you’ve got a few dollars to spare, consider donating to the rescue—it keeps us all fed, happy, and hydrated! See ya next time!
