This is Samson checking in with Straight from the Rescues' Mouths. This month started out very sad for everyone here at Illinois Horse Rescue of Will County. We had to say goodbye to one of my good friends, Cookie. My human friends and our vet tried everything they could but unfortunately our beloved and treasured friend, Cookie, passed away from this world on May 2, 2022.
He loved grooming days, naps, and meeting new people. Oh, and his best friend, Hazelnut. Although Cookie was “donated” to Illinois Horse Rescue of Will County, the truth is that he was always very understanding with his rescued pals pasts. Cookie was famous for his work in IHRWC’s outreach programs and anyone who met him loved him. He had away about him that everyone felt safe. Cookie may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. He will live on forever in our hearts! Rest my dear friend!
How was Help a Horse Day Fundraiser? The weather was everyone’s biggest concern, but the weather really held out till that night. It was the best decision to have everything located inside our facility this year to help save costs on tent rentals. Thank you everyone who came out to support IHRWC! We were able to raise $5,800! I got to meet lots of new friends/ donors. I want to say a HUGE shout out to all my IHRWC human pals that volunteered to put on the best Help a Horse Day Fundraiser! Thank YOU! Our lives depend on them and you!
Before I go to bed, I want to let you know that my human pals will be at farmers markets with handmade crafts this summer. Be sure to check our website for dates and locations. https://www.illinoishorserescue.org/news-and-events
That’s all for tonight. Check back next month to see what’s new with Straight from the Rescues’ Mouths.
